Divisions and Groups

Our Divisions will bring together associates working in specific disciplines of physics. Our Groups will work on related topics in physics and its applications or on the professional interests of the Associates. 

Interested in creating a division?

1. Partner with fifteen (15) or more full members interested in creating a thematic division in your area of ​​interest.

2. Submit a formal application to the ACOLFISICA Board of Directors, including the division's program of activities, signed by the interested parties.

3. The Board will send you a division bylaw template for you to specify the division's objectives and organizational structure.

4. The Board of Directors will review your proposal and notify you of its approval.

What is the structure of a Division?

  • Each Division or Group shall have at least one Coordinator and one Secretary elected by its members, in accordance with the Division's bylaws.

  • The Coordinator shall maintain close contact with the President and the Board of Directors of the Association and submit the Division's nominations to the Board of Directors.

  • If the Division has twenty (20) or more members, it shall have the right to nominate one candidate for representative on the Board of Directors.

  • The Board of Directors shall include three representatives from thematic Divisions. If there are more than three divisions, they shall choose their three representatives to the Board from among themselves.
